SHOWFIT FREE MASTERCLASS

Rachel In New York

2 Centrestagers cast in Annie

Finally the cast has been launched for the Melbourne season of Annie at the Regent Theatre in May. We are very excited to announce that both Stella Carroll and Mietta White will be in the production. Stella will be playing an orphan and Mietta will be playing both an orphan and Annie understudy. Congratulations to both clever girls!

Centrestage goes to New York

Countdown has begun for the biennial trip for Centrestage Students to New York and Los Angeles. The tour is at the conclusion of this term June 30th – July 13th. Ian will lead the Centrestage students who will be joined with Strathmore Secondary College students. The tour is produced by Theatrica Tours The trip will include 8 Broadway shows – including the new exciting production of Newsies, dance and singing worshops, meeting and working with Broadway professionals and much more. Fundraising Winners

As you all know we are raising money to install the heating/airconditioning unts into Studio A and C. We have awarded 3 Centrestage fundraisers with fabulous prizes: 1ST PRIZE (Term 2 Free classes at Cstage) Katherine Pearson selling 33 boxes and raising $1,800. 2ND PRIZE (Envy Scooter) Sunni Holt selling 14 boxes and 3RD PRIZE (Giant 10 kg Cadbury Diary Milk Chocolate Bar) Kasey Belmore selling 12 boxes. Congratulations to these girls and everyone for their sterling effort. All chocolate money must be returned to the school in the coming 2 weeks. We have not reached our goal yet so there are still boxes here to sell or if parents/friends would like to make a donation to the fund they are more than welcome. Imagine having heating here during the cold winter months at Centrestage – SO EXCITING!

Semi Pro Acting for Film/TV Class

Commencing Wednesday April 18th we will introduce a new class to the timetable – Semi Pro Acting for Film/TV with Mike Bishop Wednesdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Mike has been an acting coach on Neighbours for many years and is also our TV acting coach for SHOWFIT (our full time course here at Centrestage). The class will be for 16 years plus and will run for 10 weeks in Term 2. There will be limited places in this class so please book now at Reception.

A Chorus Line With Alice

Alice Ramshaw who is one of our original students at Centrestage returned to the school on Sunday to run a 4 hour A Chorus Line Masterclass for 21 Centrestage students. Alice has been based in New York for the past 2 years and is currently the Dance Captain on ACL and will be taking the show to Singapore next month. All students looked thoroughly inspired and exhausted after the 4 hours – but everyone left with a huge smile on their faces! Well done Alice !

Concerts Back To Scotch College

We are extremely pleased to announce that we will be returning to the wonderful McComas Theatre at Scotch College Hawthorn for our end of year concerts in December. We are very excited to try a new a schedule with Junior and Senior Concerts being on 2 consecutive week ends. Junior Concerts will be: Rehearsal Friday Dec 7th from 4pm and then 2 matinees, Sat Dec 8th at 1pm and Sun Dec 9th at 1pm. Senior Concerts will be: Rehearsal Friday 14th from 4pm followed by Sat 15th matinee at 1pm and evening show at 7.30pm.
