Carla Jane McCallum has been working professionally in the industry for over 14 years as both a singer and an actor.
Since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical
Theatre in 2001, Carla has taught for many performing arts schools around Melbourne, including her former position as Associate

Head of Music at the Children’s Performing Company of Australia (CPCA). As a performer, Carla has appeared in The Pirates of Penzance with Jon English and Simon Gallaher, Thoroughly Modern Millie for The Production Company, Lead Vocalist / Guest Entertainer for Princess Cruises, as well as various plays and television appearances. A career highlight to date was singing back up vocals at Michael Bublé’s ‘Call Me Irresponsible’ concerts at Rod Laver Arena. In 2014 Carla performed in the corporate cabaret ‘Dream Divas’ as well as launching her Christmas vocal trio ‘The Jingle Belles.’

In her lessons, Carla combines her experience as both a singer and actor to help her students work on all aspects of singing and performing. Carla believes in creating a solid foundation based on safe vocal technique and strong breath control and specialises in helping Musical Theatre students approach material as ‘a singing actor’. Singing lessons are tailored to each individual student, with a focus on technique, song interpretation and performance preparation.
